ENFERMERIA Tuition Award

The purpose of the ENFERMERIA Tuition Award is to provide tuition support to postbaccalaureate students enrolled in the Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate program in the College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida. Recipients will be selected based on demonstrated interest/effort in providing culturally congruent care to the Hispanic community. Applicants must submit an essay and CV/resume. This award, to the extent funds are available, will be applied to the cost of in-state tuition and fees for courses taken towards the Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate.

Application Deadline: August 15, 2024.

Note: Applicant must have been accepted to the Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate program for fall 2024.

About the Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate:

The Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate explores the healthcare needs of, and barriers to, the Hispanic community. It will prepare interdisciplinary learners to recognize the community’s unique needs in professional allied health practices, influence change in both practice and policy to eliminate disparities and improve patient outcomes and provide culturally congruent care through linguistically and culturally supportive resources.

Program Prerequisites

  • An earned bachelor’s degree.
  • Current or future role as an allied health care provider.

Degree Requirements – Required Courses – 9 Total Credits

  • NGR5131 – Exploring Transcultural and Culturally Congruent Care for the Hispanic Population (3)
  • HSC6626 – Healthcare Delivery for Hispanic Populations (3)
  • NGR6771L – Healthcare Simulation Practicum (1 – 99) (Earn at least 3 credits)

I understand that ENFERMERIA funds are provided by a federal Title V grant from the U.S. Department of Education, and completion of the HSHP Graduate Certificate program is expected by the responsible grant parties at UCF. Any awardee who receives ENFERMERIA funding and discontinues the Hispanic Serving Healthcare Professionals Graduate Certificate program, will be invoiced for all funds disbursed.
