University Testing Center and Placement Exams

UCF Placement Tests and University Testing Center Accommodations

Students with disabilities seeking accommodations for certain University Testing Center (UTC) exams or UCF placement exams must first obtain approval through Student Accessibility Services (SAS). Not all exams offered through UTC are eligible for accommodation approval through SAS. For exams that SAS cannot approve, students should contact UTC directly regarding available accommodation processes.

Accommodation requests are reviewed on an individual basis and will include documentation, accommodation history, and other relevant information regarding disability-related experiences that may impact test taking.

Students who are not currently approved for accommodations with SAS will need to provide information for review as part of the accommodation determination process.

To request accommodations for the Math Placement Test, Chemistry Placement Test, Computer Science Placement Test, or UTC exam students must submit:

  1. A completed accommodations request form: UTC & Placement Test Accommodations Request Form
  2. And ONE of the following if not already connected to SAS:
    • Documentation indicating the student took the SAT with accommodations.
    • A copy of the student’s IEP or 504 Plan indicating which test accommodations were part of the plan.
    • Other medical documentation that establishes a student has a disability and needs the requested testing accommodations.

When reviewed, SAS will determine if testing accommodations are reasonable based on disability information provided. When the information reviewed supports the need for exam accommodations, the approved accommodations will be added for the exam/placement test.

Please note : Allow up to 10 business days for SAS to review your request. In some cases, additional information may be needed, which may include, but is not limited to scheduling a meeting with an SAS representative. The need for additional information can extend the review timeline. Students are encouraged to plan their exam date accordingly and submit requests well in advance to allow sufficient time for the review process. The process will not be adjusted for late requests shortly before a scheduled exam.

Accommodations approval for the Placement Tests and other UTC exams does NOT result in students being connected with SAS for UCF course accommodations. To receive academic accommodations for courses, students with disabilities must follow the steps on the Start Here webpage of Student Accessibility Services.
