Veteran and Military-connected Students Applying to UCF

Before you begin

Our office can’t process any VA Educational Benefits paperwork until you’ve applied and been accepted to UCF. Complete the steps below first — applications open up to one year before your desired start term.

1. Complete Your University Admission Application

Application deadlines and requirements differ for undergraduate and graduate students.

2. Submit Required Transcripts & Documents

Submit your DD214 and/or military transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as part of your application. MVSS will translate your service record and recommend credit using the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide.

Air Force Transcript

  • Undergraduate students: official transcripts from every institution attended, plus score reports from any testing agency (AICE, AP, CLEP, or IB) — sent directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Graduate students: one official transcript from every college or university attended, regardless of program.

3. Schedule New Student Orientation

Undergraduate Students

MVSS hosts a dedicated orientation session for transfer veterans and service-connected students on scheduled orientation days. Once you register, an MVSC representative will email your UCF account with reporting date, time, and location.

Graduate Students

The College of Graduate Studies offers a new student orientation. It isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended. Afterward, stop by MVSC and meet with the Lead School Certifying Official for VA Educational Benefits processing.
