Project BEST, which stands for Building Exemplary Scholars for Tomorrow, is a cornerstone of Student Support Services. This can be your next step to embarking on a transformative academic journey. This program is meticulously designed to bolster college retention and graduation rates, seamlessly guiding students through the intricate realm of higher education. It’s tailored to cater to the unique needs of 144 carefully selected ambitious scholars, regardless of their chosen major.

Our doors are wide open to first-generation pioneers, individuals facing financial constraints, and those with documented disabilities. This could be the opportunity to enhance your academic journey

Eligibility

UCF student (with at least 2 semesters remaining)
Completion of Project BEST Application
First-Generation, Income-eligible, and/or Students with Disabilities

Ambassador Pathway

Leadership-focused track where Project BEST staff help you grow leadership skills. Eligible Ambassadors may receive book scholarships up to $600 per semester.

Graduation Cord Requirements

Project BEST is proud to celebrate the achievements of our graduating seniors. To receive your Project BEST Graduation Cord, scholars must complete the following program requirements during their final academic year:

Attend two (2) workshops or complete two (2) Canvas assignments (or a combination of both) aligned with your selected Project BEST Pathway.
Complete at least two (2) hours of tutoring through an approved academic support service.
Attend one (1) office-hour meeting with a professor in any of your courses.

All requirements must be reported through the Attendance Verification Form:

Once your form is submitted and verified, you will receive details about when and where to pick up your graduation cord.

Interviewing and Networking Workshop

Ready to feel more confident walking into your next interview or networking conversation? Join us here at TRIO Project BEST for our upcoming workshop “Connections and Conversations: Interviewing and Networking“. This will be an interactive lunch-and-learn designed to help you build the skills and confidence you need to make a great impression.

When: October 7, 2026
Time: 12:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Where: John C. Hitt Library, Room 170

During this workshop, we will cover the do’s and don’ts of interviewing and networking while giving you multiple opportunities to practice, participate, and have fun! We will be engaging in a professional fashion show where you can show your most or least professional looks for a chance to win a prize! Additionally, we will have a fun improv mock interview session.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Come ready to connect, converse, learn, and have some fun!
